Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 12, 2026 · Effective Date: October 12, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and W. Pearce, a sole trader trading as Snag Link ("Snag Link", "we", "our" or "us"), of Lochburn Gate, Glasgow, G20 0SN. By downloading our Android application from the Google Play Store, accessing snaglink.app, or using any Snag Link service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or use the services.

Snag Link is a tool for businesses: site managers, contractors and others who record defects as part of their work. If you use it on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that company.

2. What Snag Link Is, and Is Not

Snag Link is an app for recording construction defects ("snags") with photos, notes and voice, and for sending them to subcontractors as web links ("Snag Links") that they can open and reply to without an account.

Snag Link is a tool to help you manage snagging. It does not manage your site, your subcontractors or your contracts for you, and it does not replace your own procedures, records or professional judgement.

3. Your Responsibilities

  • Your site and your work: you remain responsible for your site, its safety, the work done on it, and deciding whether a defect has been put right. A trade marking a snag as fixed, or a photo of the fix, is their account of the work; we do not check it.
  • Your subcontractors: it is up to you to make sure your subcontractors know what you need from them, by when, and that you will be sending snags through Snag Link. A Snag Link is not a formal notice under any contract. If your contract needs defects, instructions or deadlines to be given in a particular way, give them that way as well.
  • Messages: Snag Links are sent from your own WhatsApp, text or email app. We cannot guarantee that a message is delivered, read, or read in time, or that it is not forwarded. If something is urgent or safety-critical, speak to the person.
  • Your records: keep your own copies (for example, PDF reports) of anything you may need for contractual, legal or insurance purposes.
  • Information you add: you are responsible for the snags, photos, notes and contact details you add, and for having the right to use them. That includes telling your subcontractors that you will share their name and contact details with us to send them snags, and taking care with photos that show people or private property.
  • Snag Links: anyone who has a Snag Link can see what it shows, so send each link only to the trade it is meant for. A subcontractor opening a Snag Link may view the snags assigned to them and reply; links must not be passed on to anyone else.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Snag Link to:

  • Upload misleading, defamatory, offensive, or unlawful site photos or recordings.
  • Attempt to compromise system security, reverse engineer, or scrape bearer link tokens.
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam via SMS, WhatsApp, or email dispatches.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

Snag Link and its original content, features, software algorithms, design tokens, and branding are protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all project photos, descriptions, and site walkthrough data you upload.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

  • Snag Link Pro: Pro includes unlimited projects, snags, trades, Snag Links and PDF reports, up to 5 photos per snag, voice capture and your own logo on PDF reports. It is available in the UK, monthly (£4.99 per month) or annually (£39.99 per year). Prices include VAT and are shown in Google Play before you subscribe; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Subcontractors responding to a Snag Link sent to them do not need an account or a subscription.
  • 14-day free trial: New accounts receive 14 days of Pro free of charge, starting when you save your first snag or first use voice capture, whichever comes first. Until then you can use Pro to set up your account, projects and trades. No payment method is needed and nothing is charged: when the trial ends, your projects become view-only unless you have subscribed (see section 7). A trial is available once per person: we do not offer a second trial to the same account, email address or device (see our Privacy Policy for how we check this).
  • Billing and renewal: Subscriptions are purchased and billed through Google Play. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. We never see or store your payment card details.
  • Cancelling: You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions, or from the Subscription option in the Snag Link app. When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the billing period you have already started, then your projects become view-only; you will not be charged again after that. Deleting your Snag Link account does not cancel your Google Play subscription, so cancel it in Google Play first.
  • Refunds: Payments are handled by Google Play, and refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policy. Contact us if you have a problem with a charge and we will help where we can. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
  • Price changes: If we change the price of a plan, we will give you notice in advance through Google Play, which will ask for your agreement where required. A price change never applies to a billing period you have already paid for.

7. When Your Trial or Subscription Ends

If your trial or subscription ends, your projects become view-only and nothing is deleted. You can still view, export and delete them, but you cannot add to or change them, start new projects or send new Snag Links. Reports exported without a subscription carry a "Made with Snag Link" footer. We will remind you before a free trial ends. If you subscribe again, your projects are restored. Snag Links you have already sent keep working until they expire, and subcontractors can still reply to them. You can delete your account and data at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Suspending or Closing Accounts

  • Closing your account: You can stop using Snag Link and delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Suspension or closure by us: We may suspend or close your account, or withdraw Snag Links you have sent, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms (including the Acceptable Use Policy above), if you use Snag Link in a way that puts the service, other users or trades at risk, or if the law requires us to. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
  • Other closures: If we close your account for any other reason, or stop providing Snag Link altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can export your reports, make sure you are not charged again, and refund the unused part of any subscription period you have already paid for.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • What we do not limit: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
  • Your site and your contracts: Snag Link is a tool for recording snags and sharing them with trades (see section 3). You remain responsible for the work on your sites, for checking that defects have been fixed, and for your contracts with clients and subcontractors. We are not responsible for project delays, defects that are not fixed, disputes between contractors and subcontractors, messages that are not delivered or read, or decisions made using information in Snag Link.
  • Availability: We take reasonable care and skill in providing Snag Link, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Information saved on your phone that has not yet synced can be lost if the device fails, so keep your own copies (for example, PDF reports) of anything you need for contractual or legal records.
  • Business losses: We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability: Our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Snag Link in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100.
  • Claims about your content: if someone else (for example, a client or subcontractor) makes a claim against us because of information or photos you added to Snag Link, or because you used it in breach of these Terms, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. This does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own breach or negligence.
  • Consumers: Snag Link is designed for business use. If you use it as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights, and the business-loss exclusion and the paragraph above do not apply to you.

10. Changes to Terms

We may change these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to Snag Link, to our prices or plans, or to the law. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

  • Important changes: if a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription before then and stop using Snag Link. If you keep using it after the change takes effect, the new Terms apply.
  • Other changes: changes that do not disadvantage you, such as clearer wording, new features or changes the law requires at short notice, take effect when we publish them here.
  • Price changes are handled through Google Play as described in section 6.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the protection of the consumer laws where you live.
